Part-Three Rescue ...

That sinking feelingMany people invest lots of money and time in the dream of becoming a driving instructor only to fall at the final hurdle.

For some it's because they were wrongly advised about their driving instruction career choice, for others it's because of poor driving instructor training.

If you feel as if you are sinking, you are certainly not alone.

Over the years, I have met, and helped, many people who have either been let down by their driving instructor training or who's training was not geared to their specific needs; people who have failed Part-Three several times.

It's typical to hear comments like: "I felt like I was on a runaway horse" - "I knew that I should be doing something, but nothing seemed to work" - "I thought that I was doing OK, It was a shock when the examiner told me that I’d failed."

Good news!

RescueThe good news is that with the SmartDriving 'Success Based Training' approach you can pass Part-Three... And enjoy the experience!

While John (Farlam) now does very little Part-Three work because of his commitments with qualified instructors, he can guide you towards someone who can help you.

If you enjoy driver training and get on well with people you can pass Part-Three without that sinking feeling that you may have grown used to ...

With a low national pass-rate of between 28% and 32% at Part-Three of the ADI exam one of the two statements below is correct:

A. Part-Three is extremely difficult

B. The driving instructor training that is currently available is not working for many students

Before helping you to realise that you can succeed in cracking Part-Three, let's consider the situation a little more closely by examining the two points above ...

The exam is difficult (?)

If we first look at point 'A'. Parts One and Two of the exam are not especially difficult and so it follows logically that Part-Three should make similar, but not greater demands.

This logic is based on the fact that all three parts of the exam are set and administered by the same examining body - namely the DSA (DOE in Northern Ireland and RSA in Southern Ireland).

The truth is, that despite any negative and upsetting experience you might have had, Part-Three is fairly straightforward and relatively easy to pass when you have the requisite skill. It's possible that you have been handicapped by your training - something that we sympathise with and that we can help to put right.

The training doesn't cut it!

Regarding point 'B'. Many of the trainers in the ADI business are not Grade Six instructors, in fact some qualified as instructors less than a year ago!

Many trainers, possibly the majority, do not hold additional training qualifications such as a City and Guilds adult training certificate, NVQ, Diploma in Driving Instruction or similar.

Many trainers (but not all) might be excellent teachers of learners, and be extremely honest, conscientious and hard working, however, there is a big difference between having a skill and and being able to effectively share that skill with others. Sunshine

Any trainers recommended by SmartDriving are personally selected and trained by John Farlam and have the skills you need to secure your future and fulfil your dreams.
